Do
you have any bad habits? They start out small and
then grow. For example, smokers start with a cigarette or
two just
to be cool or be in with their friends. Then one leads to two
which leads
to being a smoker.
Samuel
Johnson expressed it this
way, "The chains of habit are generally too small to be felt until they
are too strong to be broken." You start with a little which
becomes a lot and then you are hooked.
This can be anything from addictions to unfounded fears. They all
start
as a simple, small experience and then become normal patterns of
behavior. Once
they are part of your life, they are extremely difficult to get rid
of.
The trouble is you do not see them coming. Habits start so small they
can go
unnoticed until they are, "too strong to be broken."
