Sometimes we do things over and over again and never get the result we are after.  Often we do the same thing, get the same results and still do it again.  Franklin P. Jones, a Philadelphia reporter said, "Experience enables you to recognize a mistake when you make it again."  OR, at least we hope we recognize it the second or third time around.

How often do we make the same mistake over and over again?  Will we never learn from our mistakes?  Often it seems we are on a treadmill of experience, but we are going nowhere.  Our life seems to go in circles and we repeat our erroneous ways again and again.

It is interesting how all of these quotes seem to have great meaning, but no answers.  They are often given in speeches or written in books to make a point, but never seem to expand on the topic.

The good thing is that many quotes do have a powerful message in the saying by itself.  I think this quote falls in the category of punch line in a speech.
